Yakuza 0

Yakuza 0 is the first game in the franchise of the same name (now "Like a dragon" but you get it...) and the first one I got to play years ago. To this day there's still a ton to like about it, even if its just 'okay' in some aspects such as the story.

This game is a 3D beat em up with very fun and varied combat. You get to choose between several different "styles" and play between two characters (Kiryu and Majima), and there's tons of hilarious and insane things you can do in combat. I think the best part about this game though is its filled with tons of that stuff out of combat. The main story itself is grim and dark, but the side content has you singing karaoke, hiring a chicken as your real estate manager, and racing RC cars. Coupled with a fun open world to explore all of it, this game can easily keep you entertained for dozens of hours beyond the main story.

I'd say this games biggest flaws are easily the pretty basic story and pacing but overall if you can stick through that I'd recommend it.
